Cloud Nine Camping

Cloud Nine Camping started as a dream Hannah and I shared long before we ever had land or a business plan. We wanted a place where travelers could slow down, feel welcomed, and experience the Black Hills the way we do — with quiet mornings, starry nights, and room to breathe.

Building this campground has given us the chance to meet people from all over the country, hear their stories, and serve them in a way that feels personal and meaningful. It’s more than a business to us; it’s a way to share a little piece of the life we love with anyone passing through.

Cloud Nine Camping -
The Nitty Gritty

– Easy Forest Access: The campground is surrounded by Black Hills National Forest on 3 sides, meaning quick access to all the wilderness you could possibly explore.

– Spacious Campsites: This is not a “cookie cutter” campground. Each campsite is unique and allows for your family to spread out comfortably.

– Close Proximity to Main Attractions: We are only 7 miles from Mount Rushmore, 4 miles from Custer State Park, and 15 miles from Rapid City.

– Activities Galore: There is so much to do in the central Black Hills! You can shop in Keystone, ride the mountain coaster at Rush Mountain, drive scenic routes like Iron Mountain Road, hike Black Elk Peak, and so much more.

– Camping Options: We provide unique year-round experiences whether you’re camping during the summer or winter, a month-long stay or just a quick weekend trip. Let us know how we can help make your Black Hills vacation great!

– Amenities: Each of our RV sites offers water and power hook-up (except for our few boondocking site options). Our Sheep Wagons are also solar powered & fully off-grid. We have a centrally-located dump station for your convenience. There is also an on-site, single-occupancy shower and toilet unit.
